A Mermaid Cycle…

Check out The Mermaid Cycle from up and coming Brooklyn-born filmmaker Jennifer Piazza, with fellow artist Rich Adler. This film will be honored September 28 at the Coney Island Film Festival.

Jennifer is a writer, editor, and filmmaker who earned her B.A. in Communication Arts and Media Studies from Fordham University and went on to complete an M.A in Media Studies at the New School. As you can see, Ms. Piazza concentrated on avant garde film and sexual taboo’s in cinema in her studies at the New School. While her list of films, all of which can be found on YouTube, include The Old Country and Miss Clam’s Casino, Jennifer has also found time to co-produce NYC’s Bawdy House Burlesque with Rich Adler as well, which sold out in advanced sales and featured staples to the downtown Burlesque scene starring Scotty the Blue Bunny and Peekaboo Pointe, as seen on the CW’s Gossip Girl.

Shot in Super 8, like most of her work, Piazza takes the viewer on a visual adventure in this piece like only she can. Filled with a mermaid, a freak show, and a gritty score that sets the mood, The Mermaid Cycle will captivate you and have you definitely checking back for her other films online.

Here at And This Is My America, we will continue to feature other artists like Ms. Piazza who not only respect their art but are dedicated to bringing an original product to their audience time and time again.

Till next time…
