This is the type of stuff that is really going on out there.

It’s one thing to not be able to buy as many drinks at the bar, or a shirt, or go on vacation…

All of which are luxuries.

But being forced to move your whole family into a motel?

No way to spin that positively at all…

So I’m going to use this moment to put aside the fact that I don’t have a job right now, and instead, be thankful that I still have a roof over my head and food on the table for the time being.

…Not to mention a lot of time and access to internet porn on my hands!

So I just got paid last Friday and what do ya know, $740 hard earned dollars went straight to bills and expenses…

Leaving my disgruntled ass with not that much cash flow for the next 2 weeks.

So instead of bitching and complaining, which I do oh so well, I have decided to take control of the situation.

Sorry guys, with the economy being what it is, we’ve really got no choice.  There’s simply not enough capital for me and Devonte to run this site, pay our hookers, and employ the other 58,998 of you.  But we wanted you to know that you’re all very talented people and we’re confident every single one of you will land on your feet.

This was by no means an easy decision, but just couldn’t live with myself if I comprised and downgraded my retirement plan from a golden parachute to less popular bronze parachute which was originally offered to me.  I think it’s going to work out much better this way.

Bottom line, this is not even the time for me to bash the GOP for enabling this situation to unfold…

It’s really more of a time to freak the fuck out…

All I have been hearing is, “Don’t worry, the bailout will get done…” or “It has to get done, if not, our credit system will collapse…”

Well it didnt, and yes, now shit has fit the fan…

Not that I’m some huge fan of paying for Wall Street’s mistakes, but if this is the consequence? We need to make a compromise…

The common man doesn’t give a fuck about partisan disparities within the Senate…they want to know why the value of their home, their only substantial asset is plummeting or why they have lost thousands of dollars in their 401k in the past few months…

So here are some of my initial thoughts…

I don’t have time to sit here and analyze big business vs. government regulated businesses, to me it’s passed that point…

I’m more interested in, where does this leave me?

Did I actually make a mistake by going to college???

Because I know there’s a handful of motherfuckers form my senior high school class who decided to skip college and get trades like plumbing or painting…

And that shit was funny at the time, but now they have the stability i desire…

Meanwhile, I’m stuck overworked, underpaid, bitter, and in debt…

When they said, “It will get worse before it gets better…”, apparently they weren’t lying…

The real devastating reality of this general economic uncertainty is that while the media will report on the stock broker who lost a few million in a weekend or the billion dollar corporation whose shares fell 15%…they don’t emphasize the family of 5 who just went from a dual income to struggling to survive on one paycheck while putting their kids through college…

Or the single mother who can’t keep up with the recent increase in the simple things needed to survive like food and gas…

I mean really, that stockbroker may be crying but those tears are a lot richer than the factory worker who just lost their job and now has to consider selling his house below value just to survive, while the other guy has a Rembrandt hanging in his living room….

Gimme a fuckin’ break…

If this doesn’t get resolved by Wednesday, Mike James and myself are taking this operation to Mexico…

Bernanke explained how the credit crisis is rippling out through the economy. He said it has gotten harder for businesses to get the loans they need to create jobs, and for consumers to get loans to buy new vehicles – hurting both automakers and auto workers.

“I realize it’s a very complicated story,” Bernanke said. “Banks are holding all these complex hard to price securities. This approach is one way to address the problem.”

Living in NYC, I have read articles covering the collapse which details how deep the effect can be felt…from neghboring restaurants to jewelers…if Wall St. doesnt eat? A lot of people dont eat…

In the same way the daily fluctuation in oil works, many will be effected indirectly regardless of whether they are active investors or not…

While I definetly feel sorry for the lower-level employees I can relate to who may actually be in touch with the the trials and tribulations of the common man…for the most part…its a a classic case of what goes up must come down…

I mean if this really is a recession, which seems to be the case as each day a new economist pops up deeming this one of the worst financial climates in decades…who better to be in it than me?

I for one am broker than a toothless hooker…I dont have a pot to piss in…nor the motherfuckin window to throw it out of…

Me, Mike James and the rest of us here at And This Is My America, are planning to just ride this shit into the sunset…

As long as we can continue to do the BARE minimum in our shitty office jobs…

I for one know I spent most of it on bills, food, and on the black market.

In fact, the upcoming 3rd and 4th quarter appear to look even more glum than the current near recession state that we are in now.
