Palin vs Biden

So the debate is over…

And no Sarah Palin didn’t win…

(Waldorf won – 51% to 36%…by CNN standards…)

Now I have read and heard some quite ridiculous rhetoric that attempts to make a case that by “holding her own”….which is still debatable as far as I am concerned…Palin somehow won…

I don’t know…if you guys are looking at it like that…your definitely not taking into consideration just how close she would be to actually being President given McCain’s age…

I heard one gentleman say…”it doesn’t really matter if the answers are wrong…people like the way Sarah Palin speaks to them…”

Why?

Because she says “aww schucks” and “doggone it“?

That’s ridiculous…it really is…sorry…I’m not lowering the standard and essentially the integrity of our nation to that of a high school student body election…

Conservative men like her cause they want to fuck her and conservative women like her cause it likes “Ha! Thats our Hillary!!!”

Well your Hillary is the type of woman who would take pleasure in overturning Roe v. Wade…a monumental piece of legislation, that in the eyes of And This Is My America is about as important as the Internet, Nintendo, or “Happy Hour” has become to our existence…

In other news…perhaps the best thing I have learned about Mrs. Palin is that there has actually been a porno made in her honor with a look a-like!!!!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/sarahpalin/3127313/Sarah-Palin-porn-film-made-by-Larry-Flynt.html

Yes…Larry Flynt…a real maverick…has boldy taken it where we all wished he would…

I mean if we are going to have to sit through that awful accent we might as well have something tangible to take away from this whole charade…

Joe Biden Was Spawned by a Long Dead Jim Henson

Senator Joe Biden

Senator Joe Biden

And the startling revelation:

Waldorf (left) and Statler (right)

Waldorf (left) and Statler (right)

Is it just me or does Joe Biden bare a striking resemblance to Waldorf!  Imagine, if you will, the muppet minus his mustache, it’s seriously a dead lock.  It’s actually quite frightening, because those two hoary old men up there hated everything they ever saw!

As you can plainly see I’m a deep thinker, and while millions of Americans paid extra close attention to debates, I couldn’t stop picturing the photo above.  Literally tens of millions of viewers all over the country studied the debates last night, they listened to the facts, took mental notes and catalogued every minute expression the candidates made.  These same people are going to store this information until it’s time to cast their votes in the ballot box.  Other folks, such as myself, opted to ignore the facts, fuck their stances on health care, to me it was just 90 minutes of Waldorf going back and forth with Elaine Benes.

Maybe someday I’ll wise up and lay off the Dewar’s.

The X Factor…

Alright…so I didn’t post a debate recap…

I’ll tell you why folks…frankly…there just wasn’t much to be said…

And whatever could be said…millions of political blogs covered extensively in the hours following…

With what I felt was no clear cut dominant winner…I think each party felt their nominee won…

And lets be real Devonte Smith isn’t Anderson Cooper…so I went with the financial crisis which I thought had a greater impact on the people this blog represents…

With that said…tomorrow’s debates?

Will definitely quench America’s thirst for entertainment…

I mean honestly…McCain keeping us on the edge of our seat deciding whether he was going to come or not was probably the biggest highlight…

Polls show Obama won the debate but I personally think he could have done a better job of staying on the offensive…especially in the second half…

However, McCain’s biggest mistake yet was not waiting to pull the old okey doke and hold the nation hostage for tomorrow’s debate with Palin!!!

After the recent, now famed Katie Couric interview, the current economic woes, and McCain’s general numbers slipping in the polls…the stakes are higher than ever…

I’m sure Sarah Palin is somewhere right now with a team of advisers who are HAMMERING her with facts and tips to get her up to speed for tomorrow…

And I’m also sure that somewhere Joe Biden is in a recliner being the cocky motherfucker that he is…

Now while some of our conservative readers may feel like I am a biased liberal…which they wouldn’t be necessarily wrong for thinking…I am fully aware that Joe Biden has a big fucking mouth…and I do like him…but I know hes underestimating Palin right now…

I mean why wouldn’t he…in his head…this is fact vs. fiction and he’s a smart guy…but in reality its “it ain’t over till its over…”

He has to smoke her tomorrow night…point blank…

While many women and conservatives seemed to feel a boost of support for the Republican Party when Palin was initially picked…it seems that tide has turned…

That’s why to me, this debate could be the difference maker…

If Sarah Palin essentially confirms in front of the whole nation that she is really that unfit for the job of VP, to what would be a 72 yr old President…it would cement a reputation that cannot be changed with less than 5 weeks to go…

Remember…just as easily as the pendulum swung the GOP’s way when Palin was brought on…it can easily swing back Obama’s way…

In reality…Obama is not going to win over any hardcore Republicans in the next few weeks…it just doesn’t work like that…

But what Joe Biden can do tomorrow night is be the X factor in reassuring the Clintonistas and Independents that while we all know Obama isn’t gonna fucking save the world…his economic and moral values are way more in line to fix the past 8 years than those of his opponent…

Pop Goes The Weasel…

Well well well the GOP tide looks like its about to turn…

For the first time in 2 weeks Obama leads McCain 48% to 44%…

I am going to go out on a limb here and attribute this to the economic woes felt round the world this week…

With a large portion of America struggling financially, its hard for people to give a shit about how much of an American hero John McCain was or what bridge Palin signed off on…

All that shit is irrelevant…and it looks like the Sarah Palin bubble has popped!!!

They got her to be a distraction, but with McSame’s gag this week about our “fundamentally sound” economy, some semi-hot MILF from perhaps the most out of touch state in America just wont cut it…

With that said…a 4 pt lead in the polls isnt something to get overly excited about with a little over 45 days in the election to go. But it does however signify a shift in who is on the defensive.

WIth Palin in the spotlight, Obama had to be on the defensive…

With the economy front and center McCain is the easiest scapegoat…Right or wrong…at this moment in time he is the quintessential poster boy for the notion of keeping the rich richer and letting the poor continue to starve…

Same mentality that had Bush go “eh” when he heard the news about Hurricane Katrina and who it was primarily effecting….

At the end of the day, its one small lead, but if he could build on it and use this mojo to open up a lead in the battleground states going into the debates…Its a step in the right direction…

Republicans Know How To Dance…

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/04/ap-attacks-praise-stretch_n_123771.html

Well I hope she enjoyed it.

Reading off of a teleprompter can certainly impress the yokels in cowboy hats but as she said her very self, when the stadium lights go out and the cloud of rhetoric has passed, what could she possibly do to lead our nation if/when John McCain were to die as President?

Her subtle jabs at Obama displayed how desperate she was to come out with her fists up and deflect some of the negative attention she has garnered this week. But was it enough?

The main problem with how her speech played out, at least initially at the Convention and right after on CNN, is she is recieving way too much credit for essentially retelling John McCain’s bio, while at the same time attacking Obama. We all know he is a war hero and your a self proclaimed hockey mom but what the fuck does that have to do with what you would do for me if this motherfucker eats one too many steaks and has a heart attack next March???

For someone who spent the greater of her speech convincing us how horrible Obama was, she didn’t do very much to explain what she would do, or what she would be capable of if she herself ended up as President.

I mean you rip Obama for being nothing more than a community organizer, but that community was probably larger than the city she was mayor of.

What Palin did was dance.

She danced around the last 8 years…

Danced around her dysfunctional family…

And she danced around taxes…

When Obama’s economic plan will lower taxes for 80% of Americans, and your up here acting like Republicans cut taxes for the little people, and do all they can for the common man, thats when your argument starts to sound fraudalent…

Republicans know how to dance…

And they get away with it because they play on the fears of middle America.

A middle America so scared of the prospect of having a black President, that they pretend they are actually in the same tax bracket these Republican policies were intended for…

Only time will tell just how effective her speech was, but also how her facts hold up in 29 days when she debates Biden.

Most importantly, the honeymoon is over. Expect the kitchen sink all over again…

Now is not the time to ponder how shit would have been had Obama picked Hillary as VP, as if that wouldnt have brought on a whole host of other issues.

Now is the time to do everything you can to make sure this old fuck doesnt make it to the White House…

The DNC Recap…

Here at And This Is My America, we like to stray away from the daily ups and downs of the political world as we aren’t necessarily the proper forum for such an intensive topic.

However, it is definitely important to give a brief recap of all things current and influential in America

This past week we witnessed Barack Obama and the rest of the Democratic Party kick off the last stretch so to speak at their bid at a seat in the White House.

Hillary spoke

Joe Biden spoke

Al Gore spoke

Bill Clinton spoke

And most importantly, Obama accepted the nomination with a rousing speech that definitely had the makings of being granted entrance into the cannon of prime time historical moments in American history…

As the first African American to accept a major party nomination, the Republican machine is desperately trying to divide and conquer if you will, the Democratic Party while playing on the fears of a scared, broke, race conscious country that is still trying to decide whether they can accept a President with a last name that rhymes with Osama…

The ignorance that has been displayed throughout Obama’s rise to accepting the nomination last night has been overwhelming at times. But in the end, he is the nominee.

Perhaps the most important moment in Obama’s acceptance speech was when he got real and really displayed why his path to the White House has been able to overcome all of the haters out there. He said, “But I stand before you tonight because all across America something is stirring. What the naysayers don’t understand is that this election has never been about me; it’s about you. ”

And that my friend remains to be one very important fundamental difference between his campaign and that of his opponent, John McCain. McCain’s desire to lead this nation is predicated on some old sick fucks delusional obsession with one day bringing Bin Laden’s head to Capitol Hill on a stick. While I am not naive enough to think Obama winning in November will automatically bring the economic prosperity and overall stability we saw in the 90s, I do believe it will be a big statement maker for a nation, that 50 years ago couldn’t handle sharing a water fountain with someone who had a darker shade of skin.

To be honest, I am scared of what another term with a Republican leader will bring. Especially one who is 72 and not too familiar with the Internet or doesn’t remember how many homes he owns. I’m just not sure if thats what we need after two terms with a half retarded, power hungry elitist. Thats all for now, we will be sure to try to keep you up to date with this current election, while leaving the dense details to the professionals at CNN and NYTimes.com…
